Firm History

In 1993, the law firm O. J. Bamgbose was founded by the astute jurist and accomplished legal practitioner, the late Honourable Justice Olatokunbo John Bamgbose. Following his elevation to the Bench, the firm continued its practice under the name Bamgbose & Associates and subsequently evolved into Olatokunbo Bamgbose LP (OBLP)

Over the past three decades, the law firm has since carved a distinguished niche in the Nigerian legal landscape. Professor Oluyemisi Adefunke Bamgbose. SAN, FCIArb, FSPSP

Professor Oluyemisi Adefunke Bamgbose. SAN, FCIArb, FSPSP, is the Principal Partner at Olatokunbo Bamgbose LP, where she  leads the firm, manages key client relationships, and oversees business operations. She is a distinguished Professor of Law at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), having been elevated to the prestigious rank in 2018 —the first female Professor of Law in Nigeria to attain this honour.

Professor Bamgbose SAN has been a dedicated scholar and educator at the University of Ibadan for over thirty-eight years, specializing in Criminal Law, Criminology, Juvenile Justice, and Human Rights Law, particularly relating to women and children.

A prolific academic, she has published over 125 works, including articles, books, and technical reports, several of which have been cited in national and international courts. She has supervised more than 350 undergraduate and postgraduate students, including eight PhD graduates.

Professor Bamgbose SAN has served the University in several leadership roles. She was the immediate past Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships in the University between November 2021 and November 9, 2025. Other capacities include member of the University Governing Council, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Head of Department and Director of the Women’s Law Clinic.

She has been a Visiting Professor at Marquette University School of Law, Wisconsin, USA; Saint Louis University School of Law, Missouri, USA; and the University of Lagos, Akoka, Nigeria. In recognition of her passion and commitment to the advancement of women, she was invited as a Guest Speaker at the “Celebration of 100 Years of Women in Law” hosted by Saint Louis University School of Law, Saint Louis, Missouri, USA, in 2008.

Beyond academia, Professor Bamgbose SAN has served Nigeria and the legal community in numerous capacities — including as Chairperson of the Nigerian Bar Association Women Forum, Chairperson of the Oyo State Constitutional Review Committee, Chairperson: National Study Group on Death Penalty and member of several national and international technical committees on human rights, criminal justice, and legal reform.

She is a Fellow of the Salzburg Seminar (Austria), a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Fellow of the Society for Peace Studies and Practice and a member of several professional associations, including the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Nigerian Bar Association Women’s Forum (NBAWF) International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Nigerian Association of Law Teachers (NALT), Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (BOSAN), West African Research Association (WARA), and West African Research and Innovation Management Association (WARIMA).

Tosin Famakinwa

Tosin Famakinwa is a Notary Public and the Head of Chambers at Olatokunbo Bamgbose LP, where she provides strategic leadership across the firm’s legal practice and client advisory services. She is committed to professionalism, integrity, and the delivery of practical legal solutions tailored to the needs of individuals, businesses, and institutions. She also possesses specialised expertise in Labour and Employment Law and Intellectual Property Law, areas in which she has obtained relevant professional certifications, further strengthening her capacity to provide informed and effective legal advisory services.

As Head of Chambers, she manages the legal team, upholds high professional standards, and ensures clients receive clear, reliable, and results-driven representation. Her oversight spans every department of the firm, covering key practice areas such as corporate and commercial law, property transactions, litigation, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, and notarial services.

In her capacity as a Notary Public, she authenticates, certifies, and prepares legal documents for use both within Nigeria and internationally.

Known for her sharp attention to detail and client-focused approach, she continues to champion innovative solutions, smart legal practice, and strong legal protection for the firm’s clients.

Oyeyemi Marvellous-Grace

Oyeyemi Marvellous-Grace is a Business Development and Program Coordinator with extensive experience at the intersection of legal strategy, corporate communication, and project execution. She adopts a structured, purposeful approach to managing the firm’s strategic initiatives, ensuring that all outward-facing programs align with institutional standards and target objectives.

She leads the communication strategy and visibility planning for the firm’s annual scholarship programme, drafting targeted promotional materials for social media and compiling impact reports for key stakeholders. Additionally, she coordinates cross-functional workflows for the Yohannes Digest project, collaborating directly with senior partners and developers to translate complex technical builds into user-centric experiences.

Marvellous-Grace holds an LL.M and a B.L, bringing a legal practitioner’s precision to digital outreach, network expansion, and program management. Her practice is driven by a strong commitment to administrative excellence, sharp attention to detail, and the seamless execution of the firm’s long-term growth strategies.

Mr Oluwatayo Joshua Fajemisin

Joshua Fajemisin is a Case Management and Property Compliance Lead with experience across real estate and property transactions in Nigeria. He adopts a structured and analytical approach to navigating the regulatory frameworks governing commercial, residential, and corporate property transactions.

He ensures that transactions comply with relevant statutory requirements, regulatory standards, and internal compliance procedures. His work includes managing legal documentation, conducting compliance reviews, mitigating transactional risks, and overseeing case files from inception to completion.

Joshua works closely with senior counsel to protect clients’ interests, safeguard assets, and support the delivery of seamless, legally sound property solutions across Nigeria. His practice is driven by diligence, administrative excellence, and a strong commitment to client protection.

Miss Tomilola Okerinde

Tomi serves as the Compliance and regulatory Officer at Olatokunbo Bamgbose LP, where she supports the firm’s regulatory, corporate governance, and internal compliance functions. She assists in ensuring that the firm’s operations align with applicable legal, tax, corporate, and professional obligations, including statutory filings, annual returns, client documentation, internal record-keeping, and compliance calendar management.

She works closely with the legal and administrative teams to monitor deadlines, coordinate regulatory processes, maintain proper documentation, and support risk-management procedures within the organisation. Her role also involves helping the firm stay organised, responsive, and compliant in its day-to-day operations.

With a strong interest in corporate compliance, legal administration, and regulatory systems, Tomi is committed to promoting accountability, operational efficiency, and professional excellence. She brings diligence, structure, and attention to detail to her work, ensuring that compliance is treated not merely as a requirement, but as an essential part of effective legal practice.

Adenike Ogunyemi

Adenike Ogunyemi with over ten years of experience supporting the daily operations of a professional law firm. She serves as the first point of contact for clients and visitors. She is responsible for receiving and directing guests, handling telephone and email correspondence, and handling complaints with professionalism and discretion.

Her duties include the operation and maintenance of essential office equipment such as computers, scanners, printers, generators, etc. She also ensures adequate office supplies are maintained to support uninterrupted workflow. She upholds confidentiality and security of all client and firm records through a structured and compliant filing system. In addition, she oversees the firm’s maintenance staff and coordinates the timely renewal of professional certifications, operational licenses, tax obligations, insurance policies, internet services and utilities.

Guided by accuracy, integrity and efficiency, she provides the administrative support necessary to maintain smooth firm operations and enable legal practitioners to focus on client service.
